can termination of employment be initiated by employee

i working in it company,
I want to quit working immediately. can I leave company immediately.

can I terminate agreement to work immediately.

below are the contents of appointment letter with respect to Termination.


Termination:

(i) It is understood and agreed that this engagement may be terminated by
either party by giving to the other at anytime, notice in writing of 90
days. The termination shall take effect at the end of such notice period.

(ii) Termination with immediate effect may be made by either party by
paying to the other an amount equivalent to Gross Salary for notice
period in Lieu of notice. However, in the event the termination with notice
is at the instance of the employee, then the Company may, at its sole
discretion, relieve the employee on any date during the notice period by
waiving notice period, in full or part, with or without payment of notice
pay.

(iii) On initiation of termination of engagement by either party,
employee is expected to adhere to the terms of this appointment
letter including attending office regularly, completing tasks / work
entrusted, ensuring handing over formalities properly and taking

Dear Queriest,

Focus on the words "an amount equivalent to Gross Salary for notice period in Lieu of notice"

You can leave immeditely subject to above condition. Try that if Your new employer can buy out your notice period.
