Can we ask bank statement from funded ngo

Sir .Can we ask bank statement form the funded ngo through RTI. Ngo got fund from govt but dont pay salary while govt donate money to pay their salary, in field of education

YOU CAN SEEK INFORMATION THROUGH RTI ACT REGARDING FUNDS RECEIVED FROM THE GOVERNMENT & FOR WHICH PURPOSE. AFTER OBTAINING INFO YOU CAN ANALYSE IT & USE IT FOR YOUR INTENDED PURPOSE.

I think not directly, but through regulating/regisrating authorities of concern N.G.O. using RTI.

Under Section 2(f) of the RTI Act the term "information" has been defined as including information relating to any private body which is accessible to any public authority under the laws in force for the time being. I feel the bank statements of such NGOs must been available to the Govt. Therefore, the information regading their bank statement can be asked to the govt, which in turn would ask the NGO to provide the information.
