Change of fathers name

My friend lost husband in an accident in 1982 and got remarried in 1986. She has a daughter, who was around 5 yrs at that time. Marriage was registered. Birth certificate of daughter shows 1st fathers name (as he was alive at that time)

After remarriage, adoption process of girl was missed. At the time of school admission, 2nd fathers name was mentioned and every thing worked OK.

Now the girl is grown up and got married, settled in USA after marriage on maiden name, on marriage ground.

Her husband is applying for green card, but his wife (the girl above mentioned) is having 1st fathers name in Birth certificate and 2nd fathers name in passport.

Request help to sort out this matter- Bharat

I believe drawing a affidavit with these details attested by a Notory Public will solve the problem. Since it is in America I am not sure of  it.
