Clum membership

I have a NRI friend who is a member of a club. There are two types memberships, NRI and Indian residents. The initial membership fee for Indian members is much higher the NRI membership. The reason for this is that the NRI members can only have use of the club for just 90 days against 365 days for Indian members. The question is this : Although the NRI members are permitted to use the club for 90 days they are expected to pay full mainenatnce charges that is paid by the Indian members. Basically what it works out is that every time an Indian member uses the club it costs him 38.29 rupees against 157.33 rupees for NRI member on pro rata basis. This cannot be justifies by the club surely?

What is your question?

You mean to say that there is big discrimination against the NRI member towards the maintenance charges?

Well this was the rule of the club which was agreed before joining in it as a member then why there should be a hue and cry over it at this stage?

If you do not want to continue with the membership due to this discrimination and the club management is not ready to listen to your voice, you may better resign form the membership, there is no compulsion on you to continue with the club membership with such unsatisfactory conditions.

You may go through the bylaws or the rules of the club which would highlight your issue and clarify all your doubts

it is based on the bye-law and board decisions. so its all their own decision to continue as a member of the club or not. if you personally feel it is injustice then be quit or away from the club will be the remedy.

The issue, if at all any, is an administrative policy which courts are unlikely to interfere. The General Body can amend the system at wisdom.
