Combining of multiple civil suit

A person has filed 3 civil suits of similar nature (for recoveries of amounts transferred vide cheques) against 3 persons. All the 3 are related to each other on family/work terms. The deposits were done in a staggered manner in accounts of all the 3 defendants.

1)      Can the 3 suits be combined into one?

2)      Or can a single reply be filed on behalf of all the 3 defendants in response to the plaint?

3)      Is there any other way and procedure to achieve the same (if need be done in a different manner than the above mentioned)?

in these suit the cause of actions are one and the same , the same can the tried together.  otherwise it will not be.  In your case joint trail can be possible.  But separate reply (w/st )should be filed.
