In the new Licencing Policy, most of the licences have been abolished. However, Licencing still remains in some areas. Once the company has been incorporated, the company has to commence business which may take one or two years. The company has to inform the Registrar of Companies when it will be starting the business. However, a company will have to take following regsitrations :-

1. PAN No. 2. Service Tax No. if in service sector 3.Environmental clearance 4. Electrical & Water connections 5. Registration with Factory Inspector /Electrical Inspector 6. Labour Licence 7. EPF Registration No.  and a whole bunch of regsitrations which may differ from state to state and industry to industry.

Initially after receiving the Certificate of Incorporation, you need to apply for PAN & TAN Nos' with the I.T.Department. In absence of details of the business it is not possible to advise as what licenses / permissions will be required.
