A police officer  receives any information regarding cognizable offence, it is called First Information Report (FIR). He enters it in General Diary kept for that purpose.Thereafter, he starts investigation, procuring evidence, arresting the accused. There are several incidents and facts in it. After completing the entire investigation, he prepares a report and submits it to the Magistrate. This " Completed report " is called as " Poice Report " or " Charge Sheet". The Police-Report is nothing but a complaint made by a private citizen to the Magistrate.Submission of charge-sheet means that the preliminary investigation and preparation of the case is over and the next stage of it is the Magistrate to take cognizance of the offence.

Depends where is the case?

For chargesheet you would get the summons.
