Default to issue form 16

A Bank disburses Civil Pension to a Central Govt. Officer & deducts Income Tax regularly from the monthly Pension. However it defaults to issue FORM 16 in time & also to deposit TDS in time. What is the remedy available against the defaulter Bank ?

Reply: Complain, preferably to the Commissioner of Incoma Tax(TDS) having jurisdiction over the Deductor-Bank, or at least to your CIT(TDS).

Firstly the Concerned Bank may be requested to file the return the return with the TIN/NSDL and issue form 16 so that return may be filed, failing concerned CIT (TDS) MAY BE REQUESTED to take approprate action against the defaulter Bank.
