Details regarding 2nd Appeal in RTI Act, 2005

Within how many days can we expect response to 2nd Appeal in RTI Act 2005?

If no response is received within stipulated time what should we do next? And within how many days should we act?

Thanks!

Every appeal is to be disposed of within 30 days. If no response is received approach Central Information Commission

The RTI Act has not stipulated any time limit for disposal of second appeal to CIC/SICs. Period of delay differs from state to state. CIC may take nearly 10-12 months to hear. There is huge pendency in all Info Commisssions, which is diluting effectiveness of RTI. Activists are building pressure on Govt to expedite disposal. This is the parallel case of pendency in various courts.
