District Consumer forum

The pecuniary jurisdiction of the district consumer court is tied at 20 lacs. Of course the applicant has to limit his prayers within 20 lacs. Has the district consumer forum has this authority where it awards main compensation within Rs 20 lacs but with the interest component that is awarded with the compensation, total exceeds 20 lacs.
