Documents for marriage

Hi,

Am Rishab. Its one year since we have moved to chennai. We were at bangalore earlier. At present I am to marry a hindu girl. Its love marriage. Our parents have accepted. So we are to register the marriage according to special marriage act. The problem here is I have a pan card,marksheet for age proof. But for address proof i neither have ration card or drivers licence or passport. So what are the other options to get an address proof. Can i open a bank account or should i get any affidavit from the counciler or lawer. Can anyone please tel the solution or what is required for address proof so that i can try doing it.

bhai very simple you can give affidavit or the head post office give the proof of address with photo id card given, so you immediatly contact HO post office with photos amounts Rs.250 only, but it will take 1 month time, if urgent then ask to the post office people.

Thanks a lot Bhai for the quick response. The information was very helpful. Her parents have decided to marry at may. As this is an intercaste marriage we need one month notice. So only if i apply now i can get married at may. As you mentioned in post office it might take a months time, so can i open a bank account on this address and get an affidavit from lawyer or counciler so that i can submit it as an address proof.
