Protection of Women From Domestic Violence Act, 2005 _ Divorced woman _ Maintainability of application _ Provisions cannot be interpreted so as to mean that only subsisting domestic relationship _ Even if the woman was in the past in a relationship she would be entitled to invoke the provisions of the Act of 2005 _ Relationship by consanguinity, marriage, etc. would be applicable to both the existing relationship as well as the past relationship and cannot be restricted to only the existing relationship _ Petitioner though divorced continued to stay in the shared household till she was allegedly forcefully evicted by Respondent No.1 _ She would be entitled to invoke the provisions of the Act of 2005.
