DOMICILE STATUS IN MAHARSHTRA

For an Indian National born outside Maharashtra, is it necessary to be in Maharshtra for 15 years continuously to be eligible to become Domicile in Maharshtra (Permanent Residence Category)?

If one has stayed for more than 10 years, is there any exemption for him to be qualified as a domicile?

i think if you are born outside maharashtra probably it is almost impossible to become a domicile of maharashtra unless your parents are domicile of maharashtra. You need to have at least ration card registered in maharashtra of your parents in maharashtra at the time of your birth, and you need a proof that you/your parents had a business or permenant establishement...

I think Maharashtra domicile rules are the best in the country.

Thanks.

Can you please help me to get to the correcy rule book where I get to see the relevant provisions clearly.

I also do not understand why you say that Maharshtra Rules are the best in the Country.

Regards.
