If you insist that the application for taking action against the opposite parties for giving dowry, by the police is pertinent and insist the court to direct the police for proper investigation and action, as rightly observed by the court, you may be trapped for accepting the dowry too, be watchful about this situation. You have filed this application before the court in an anxiety, but make sure that it does not back fires and becomes a farce to you.

@Querist,

As you want to file cases

1. You can file Tax evation petition (TEP) to income tax deptt if your father in law have claimed og giving  huge dowry (More that 5 lacs)

2. If your FIL is a govt servant,please file an application departmental enquiry for giving dowry. For this you need to check the deptt service code of conduct rule. Normally it is  mentioned code of conduct that giving/taking dowry is crime.
