ELIGIBILITY RULES FOR JUDGES; AS PER NEW RULES PREPARED BY THE GOVERNER OF MUMBAI:

The new rules prepared by the Governor of Mumbai, on August 25, 2008, which includes that candidate should have cleared five years (new syllabus) or three years (old syllabus) in first attempt (each year) and his age should not be more than 25 years;  based on which the applications were invited on December 17, 2008 for the 200 posts of judges and JMFCs.,  if the candidate has not practiced in the court after completion of the course, is depriving several law graduates from appearing for the exams for the posts.

A writ is already filed before the Auranbagad Bench of Mumbai HC challenging the Rules.
