ESI Act

Dear Friends,

I need a clarification regarding ESI ACT. In the event of employee's death outside the premises of the company are the dependents eligible for benefit under the Act. The employee has been covered under the ACt, but he has not been alloted temporaray ESI number due to non submission of declaration form and postcard size photo. But his contribution of 3 months has been remitted to ESI.

Regards

Dear Sharathchandra

An employee is covered person only when he s alootted the ip no in esi, without that he is not a covered person under ESI.For this the ESI decaration form should be submitted for getting the ip no.

Without doing this we cannot claim tht he s a insured person only by paying his contribution.

Thanks

Manikandan

Dear Sharath

One more rule under ESI is an employee cannot claim any benefit during his first contribution period. First six months will be his contribution period. so tht family members cannot claim any thing.
