One relative lady of mine has been provided free legal service under the NALSA 1987 Act.She is going to file compensation civil suit of 50 lakhs.
Is she eligible for court fee exemption?

Free legal aid doesn't means that she will get an exemption or waiver of payment of court fee.

If she cannot pay court fees now then she can file a pauper petition to seek exemption from paying court fee now.

The National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) has the following guidelines for court fees ¹ ² ³: - No court fees are payable when a matter is filed in a Lok Adalat. - All other charges, including process fees, are payable by the state. - The state is responsible for refund of court fees. - Rules for refund of court fees are to be framed by the state.
