If the defendant remained expartee after receiving the summons, he may within such limitation period file an application through his/her advocate submitting a convenient explanation to the competent court.   Even when the party remains expartee, generally court considers facts stated with documents as correct in absence of defense and it is most important to file such application for reopening within a limitation period.
