First, issue a memo seeking an explanation from him, and complete the disciplinary process as per laid down norms. If the employee fails to get confirmation on the genuineness, he can be terminated but the termination should always be in the way it was prescribed.
The organization can also file RTI application in a personal name (Citizen) enclosing a copy of certificate provided as record and can seek confirmation as to whether it was genuine or not from the board.
It all depends on the services of employee. if the present employment is in no way connected to qualifications and if the employee is sincere and hard working, the organization may view the case leniently and warn him in writing.
