When a complaint is filed u/s 498A of the Indian Penal Code, 1860 the accused shall be notified, who will have to seek professional services of a local prudent lawyer, "if" he (accused) desired to get out of the allegation(s) levelled therein.

If the police has registered any FIR and has filed the charge sheet also based on the complaint and investigation then the accused has to first get enlarged on bail and challenge the false case properly on merits in the trial court.
