one of my friend filed a joint petition for divorce in a court in chennai. and for the last two years both of them didnot approached the court.is there any provision to renew the same petition ,and get a verdict as soon as possible.?

Both can file a joint application to reopen the case and it will be reopened.

is there any possibility to reopen the case?the are living seperately for more than 3 years.is there any possibility to get a verdict soon?

Application Under Order IX Rule 3 read with Section 151 CPC to reopen the case lies. If it is mutual consent divorce petition , about six or seven months it will take to get divorce decree.
