For transmission of shares of deceased person without any will

dear sir my father was expired on 1998 and we now getting share certificate in physical form we are only the family of 2 members my mother and myself and there was no will of my father and i want to transfer these shares in my name please sugeest me the best way to transfer the shares whether i should make succession certificate or letter of administration or legal hire certificate out of this three which is more convenient to transfer the shares with the consent of my mother and require less legal formalities please do provide the format of same as per your suggestion
