When free legal aid is provided when someone is unable to hire a lawyer??

In terms of The Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987 every person who has to file or defend a case shall be entitled to legal services under the Act if that person is-

(a) a member of a SC or ST
(b) a victim of human trafficking
(c) a person with disability
(d) a person under circumstances such as victim of a mass disaster like flood, drought, earthquake
(e) an industrial workman
(g) in custody-including in a protective home, juvenile home or in a psychiatric hospital or psychiatric nursing home
(h) in receipt of annual income less than 1 lac (in case of Delhi. The same might vary in other states)
