Dear Praksh,

The terms LLB and LLM are derived from Latin Language,wich means Legum Baccalaureus and Legum Magister respectively.

Dear E.Prakash,

LL.B / LLB = LEGUM BACCALAUREUS (Legum is plural for Lex); = Bachelor of Laws, the tertiary level law degree.

Unless you're referring to another LLB.

 LL.M.= Master of Laws."  It's a lawyer's degree.

LL.B. stands for Bachelor of Legislative Laws and LL.M. stands for Master of  Legislative Laws

Dear E.Prakash,

LL.M. is an abbreviation of the Latin Legum Magister, which means Master of Laws. In Latin, the plural form of a word is abbreviated by repeating the letter. Hence, "LL." is short for "laws." Legum is the possessive plural form of the Latin word lex, which means "specific laws", as opposed to the more general concept embodied in the word jus, from which the word juris and the modern English word "justice" are derived

An LL.B. is the award of the degree of Bachelor of Laws. LL.B. is a Latin word. It stands for ‘Legum Beccalaureus’. In Latin abbreviations, the plural form of a word is indicated by doubling the letter- hence ‘LL.’ is short for Laws.

LL.M. is Latin abbreviation for Legum Magister, signifying Master of Laws.

LL.D. is Latin abbreviation for Legum Doctor, signifying Doctor of Laws.
