I am working in a "Regional Consultant" in central govt funding agency is World Bank . My salary is consolidated sum Rs 25000/- per month. Department say TDS will be deducted 10% but my salary as per IT Act (TDS rule ) only Rs. 11330/- and rules say average rate applied (11330/12 = Rs. 945 Per month) deducted. There is no mention of any provision in my contract letter and department deduct 10% per month (Rs. 30000 in a year) that is excess amount Rs. Rs. 18,670 and say to me you will get refund with IT department.
whether this practice is lawful?
kindly tell what law govern the recruitment process of contract job in govt sector. please give me the full detail
