Hi,
My husband passed away 5 months ago. Now some persons are approaching me saying that he ows them huge sums of money tuning to few tens of thousands to few lakhs individually to each one of them. Some of them are saying that they gave the loan on gentlemen understanding basis and one of them showed blank and written cheques saying that they were signed and given to him by my late husband against the loan. He says that he doesnt have anything else apart from those cheques as proof like any other note/document etc.
I am afraid that this would turn into a constant and more frequent harassment. I have no clue about my late husband's financial activities/dealings with the said persons either written or oral. I am seeing them for the first time in life. I am a normal house wife. Am I liable in anyway?
If this becomes persistant and harassment becomes more frequent what should I do and what can I do. Pls advice and help.
