Hi, I am Shriram from Bangalore.
My house owner refuses to pay the security deposit back quoting bad conditions of the house. However, the house is old and due to age, has naturally gotten older (not damaged). As per the rental agreement, only one month's rent has to be deducted for painting charges but the owner has deducted more than 3x the monthly rent. He is not willing to compromise. I want to go legal. Please advise how to proceed with sending him a legal notice and if I have the right grounds to argue on.
