I have rented my house for 11 month agreement starting from March 2012 thru Jan 31, 2013 in Mettupalayam , Coimbatore City for a businessman. Verbally he agreed to pay rent in cash. But now he is saying that he will pay rent only in cheque and also he needs a receipt for it. Otherwise he will not pay rent hereafter.
My question is, is it advisable to give a receipt and accept cheque. Will it make any future problems to me. Please advise.
