Get an  written acknowledgement from your relative; alternatively collect proof such as your source of such money and other relatives or individuals who have seen this transaction as witness. And make arrangements to recover the money from your relative starting with a demand notice and thereafter by filing money recovery suit.

Dear Sir It is very difficult to recover money back if he is refusing. You should talk to him with some other relatives.

Dear Friend

You said you gave money without any written proof. If you have paid in cash, then I am sorry forget it. If you have paid in cheque then use that transaction and put a demand notice on him through a lawyer.

Regards
