IIT-K alumni join hands against corruption
The alumni of IIT-Kanpur came together on Saturday and called for eliminating corruption by erasing human interference in government functions.
Led by IITK alumnus R K Misra, the former students met at Freedom Park and said the Lokpal bill must cover all the citizens of India and no person in any position should be excluded. No one should have the right to be corrupt, they echoed.
"We as engineers want the system to change in such a way that a majority of the work is done by a machine so that people need not pay a bribe to get their work done."
Amitabh Sathyam called for structural change in the government for improving services. "Citizens have a right to information on all government processes and transactions," he said.
