Sir, I have received notice from city civil district court to appear in-person to a case related to property between a group that includes me with the commissioner of the District.

As I am out of station please let me know in this case is it mandatory to appear.?

No, it is not compulsory or mandatory for your personal appearance in a civil case. You may appoint a local prudent lawyer to appear on your behalf alongwith power of attorney /vakalatnama in his / her favour.

How commissioner of district is involved in your civil case / dispute between a group ?

Just let your advocate to appear, it is civil case not a criminal one

Your appearance through counsel  will be treated as your personal appearance .

What do you men by "party-in-person"? Have you not engaged an advocate to represent you?

You can contact a local lawyer and proceed as advised by him.

Engage an Advocate to appraise the court that you are out of station and need time for managing your pre occupied schedule. The court will accommodate you.
