India IPL owner Sunanda Pushkar dies: How did she die?

In the news published by Khaleej Times Dubai, Sunanda Pushkar a cricket IPL sponsor and the wife of Indian Human resources minister Dr. Shashi Tharoor, was found dead on 17th January in a luxury hotel in the Indian capital, New Delhi after accusing her husband of being unfaithful, appeared to have died of drug overdose.

Sunanda, who was linked with state sponsored IPL gambling, hailing from Jammu, was unknown to the India public even though she was co-owner of Kerala IPL franchise, until she came closer to Shashi Tharoor who had returned form USA leaving his UN assignment. hails from Kerala.

Tharoor MP, 57, who represents Thiruvanathapuram constituency, was shocked when he found his wife Sunanda dead in her five-star hotel room in New Delhi after he returned from a high level Congress party meeting.

Tharoor, 57, the former Assist UN chief, found his wife Sunanda Pushkar dead on Friday in her five-star hotel room in New Delhi after he returned from a Congress party meeting.

Sunanda Pushkar, 52, died an “unnatural, sudden death”, said doctors who performed an autopsy on Saturday, adding that more tests were needed to determine the exact cause. Pushkar’s body had “some physical injuries”, but it was unclear whether they were related to her death, Sudhir Gupta, one of three doctors who performed the autopsy, had said.

Her body was cremated according to Hindu rites on the weekend.

An autopsy report, which was submitted yesterday to a magistrate charged with investigating her death, cited a drug overdose as the cause of death.

The couple became embroiled in a row on Wednesday after Twitter messages suggested he was having an affair.

Ms Pushkar, 52, said she had gone into her husband's account and published the messages. She accused Ms Tarar of stalking her husband - an allegation denied by the Pakistani journalist.

The autopsy also found "injury marks" on Ms Pushkar's body, but did not say if they were linked to her death. Dr Amit Gupta, spokesperson of Delhi's All India Institute of Medical Sciences, where the autopsy was conducted, told the BBC that the "preliminary report shows there was drug overdose".

An autopsy report, which was submitted on Monday to a magistrate charged with investigating her death, cited a drug overdose as the cause of death. Magistrate Alok Sharma refused to elaborate the details of the report, saying he would study it along with recorded statements of others, including that of Tharoor. “On this basis I will conclude what was the cause of death and submit a report to the police whether a case is made out or not surrounding the death and whether police should carry out further investigation or not,” Sharma said.

Tharoor recorded his statement on Sunday, hours after he pledged full cooperation with investigations and urged a speedy inquiry into his wife’s death, which came after she exposed his alleged affair on Twitter with a Pakistani journalist, Mehr Tarar.

Tharoor –Tarar link, though it looks very simple and plain, seems to have upset Sunanda.

The death was a tragic twist in a tale of apparent marital strife that has played out in full view of the public’s gaze, both in India’s newspapers and on social media. Accusations of an affair first surfaced last week when unusual messages appeared on the Twitter account of the thrice-married Tharoor, who is also a novelist, a government spokesman and a prolific tweeter. They showed private exchanges purportedly between the minister (@shash*tharoor) and Pakistani journalist Mehr Tarar (@mehrtarar), in which she professed her love for him and he said his wife had discovered their relationship.

Tharoor quickly responded by saying his Twitter account had been hacked, but Pushkar told two newspapers that she was the author of the messages.

Tarar strongly denied having an affair with the former high-flying UN diplomat.

Seeking to draw a line under the Twitter row, Tharoor issued a statement in which he blamed unauthorized tweets and distorted media reports for the “unseemly controversy”. The statement also said the couple was “happily married”.

Tharoor, a former UN diplomat, was forced to resign from his first ministerial position in 2010 amid controversy over his involvement in bidding for a cricket team. He was appointed minister of state for human resource development in 2012.

Joint Cricket format known as IPL brought them together. Ms Pushkar had allegedly received a free stake in the Indian Premier League franchise he was bidding for.

There are a few questions still remains unanswered about the real cause and manner of her death and let us wait for more news on the subject.

clear fowl play is suspected by every body and  people need to know the truth. .

meanwhile, Indian regime and parliament should  seriously consider  ending the IPL gambling  forthwith.  Indian youth should find some other useful and genuine entertainment in place of bogus cricketism to make  fake batboys look larger than their r real size  with the help of extra paid bowlers.
