HELLO SIR,
SIR I AM A GUY WHO BELONG TO BRAHMIN COMMUNITY AND WANT TO MARRY A GIRL WHO BELONG TO ST COMMUNITY.
CONGRATULATIONS. ONLY PEOPLE LIKE YOU WILL BRING A CASTELESS SOCIETY.
BUT MY FAMILY WON'T ALLOW ME TO MARRY THE GIRL. SIR IS THERE ANY PROCEDURE/WAY TO CHANGE HER CASTE?
NO. THERE IS NO PROCEDURE TO CHANGE THE CASTE OF A PERSON.
OR IT CAN BE ONLY CHANGED AFTER MARRIAGE?
AFTER MARRIAGE ALSO, FOR ALL OFFICIAL PURPOSES SHE WILL BE ST AND YOU WILL BE BRAHMIN. HER CASTE CANNOT BE CHANGED. IF SHE WANTS SHE CAN STOP TO SEEK CONCESSIONS AVAILABLE TO ST COMMUNITY IN GOVERNMENT JOBS AND SCHEMES.
.AND SIR AFTER OUR MARRIAGE OUR CHILDREN WILL BE TREATED AS GENERAL/ST CATEGORY?
AS PER THE PRESENT LAW SET BY SUPREME COURT, THE CHILDREN WILL ACQUIRE THE CASTE OF FATHER. THERE ARE EXCEPTIONS TO THIS RULE. IF THE CHILDREN ARE BORN AND BROUGHT UP IN THE COMMUNITY WHERE THE MOTHER BELONGS, IN SOME CASES, CHILDREN ACQUIRE THE CASTE OF THE MOTHER.
AND WE NEED TO MARRY IN ARYA-SAMAJ MANDIR?
IF BOTH ARE HINDUS, YOU CAN MARRY AS PER HINDU MARRIAGE ACT AND GET IT REGISTERED BEFORE THE MARRIAGE OFFICER. YOU CAN ALSO MARRY IN ARYA SAMAJ MANDIR AND GET CERTIFICATE THERE. YOU CAN ALSO MARRY UNDER SPECIAL MARRIAGE ACT AND GET CERTIFICATE THERE.
