Shared marriage expenses are not considered as :"streedhan". for alimony it will depend on merits and demerits and evidences of the case.

Marriages ceremonies are pretty expensive now a days. Is shared marriages expenses are considered as "Stree - Dhan" during divorce and husband should return back to wife at time of divorce? Also, after 2 years of marriage if wife leaves husband home without any solid reason, how much settlement approximately will husband (earn 10 lakh per year before taxes) need to provide during divorce? No kids. |
You are muslim? By the way it looks, clarify.

Marriage Expense either shared or alone is NOT stridhan, Stridhan is gifts during marriage ceremonies to bride by either party i.e. by her parents or inlaws. To get this back your wife need to prove two things
1. These presents were given to her.
2. These presents are in your custody
For maintence , there are many factors like your living standard before cases, her capability to earn etc.
