Is xerox copy valid in the court

Hi All, Is Xerox copy valid in the court? We have withness and we don’t have original copy? Please advise. Thanks….

if you haven't original documents but attested photocopies are with you , you can submit it in the court as an secondary evidence u/s 63 of Indian evidence act , these evidences are admissible in the court but its evidentry value is very less .

But in RTI documents they are supplying only xerox copies , is it valid in court as a Primary evidence?

Copies obtain through RTi are deemed as primary evidece.

Zerox copy is only a secondary evidence: Before submitting Zerox copy the secondary evidence the Evidence Rule require that you must first satisfy the court under what circumstances you are submitting the zerox copy. Unless you satisfy the court the account of the original copy the secondary evidence cant not be admitted provided it is not objected by the opposite party.
