2014 is a special year. This year brings the General Elections. These General Elections, we believe, will decide the trajectory of our nation’s growth and progress.
The nation is paused at a unique juncture. Today, we are the youngest nation in the world. Today, we have the potential to race China, whose growth is slowing, and become a world leader. Tomorrow, we might lose that opportunity forever. We may remain a country sunk in poverty and corruption. Lack of a credible and strong leader, capable of delivering on good governance, has slowed the nation to a crawl.
As educated professionals today, we keep waiting for the right time, the right platform or for the right opportunity. But sometimes, the right time, the right platform and the right opportunity is right before us, and all we need to do is act.
All over the world, campaign teams are run by people like you - young, educated and motivated - striving to do their part to bring about positive change in their country. In India, such opportunities are rare, if not non-existent. It is time we change that and become a decisive part of the National Election Campaign 2014.
Citizens for Accountable Governance is currently a group of around 100 plus full-time members from some of the most prestigious institutes of learning and profession. We also have a group of around 50000 volunteers spread across the length and breadth of the nation.
We believe that in the present political context Mr. Narendra Modi is the most suitable choice to take the nation forward. He has a proven record of good governance and economic development and stands for merit. Hence, we have decided to help Mr. Modi’s election campaign efforts as a professional campaign support group
As lawyers, you already have a keen understanding of the legal foundation on which the political system rests. This is a one-of-its-kind opportunity to view and understand the realities of Indian politics from the inside. By joining CAG, you will be directly involved in the campaign, gaining exposure to the Indian political establishment, while also gaining a chance to watch the elections unfold from the inside. As a full-time member of CAG, you will also be paid a stipend and may be required to travel at short notice.
