LOCK OUT

Can a landlord lock the premises of the tenant who has not paid rent for three years .There was no renewal of lease agreement either. Lease agreement expired and the lessor was trying to alienate the rented premises to a third property.

Amjad sir your query is silent about the fact whether the premises was vacant or in possession of tenant when landlord locked it? Presuming it to be in possession of tenant landlord can't do so without order of eviction 4m court.

In the given quarry it seems that the possession still vests with the tenant so owner has got no legal right to lock the premises though the period of lease has expired.

Mr.Amjad,

forfeiture of lease of property where the lessee breaches an express condition which provides that on breach thereof the lessor may re-enter.
