In the context of criminal law, "locus standi" refers to the right or ability of a person or entity to initiate or participate in a criminal case, meaning they must demonstrate a sufficient connection to the case to be heard in court.

The purpose of locus standi is that it ensures that only those with a genuine connection to the legal issue are allowed to participate in the legal process.

While the concept of locus standi is generally more flexible in criminal law compared to civil law, it generally means that only an aggrieved party or someone with a direct interest in the matter can approach the court.

T. Kalaiselvan,

Sir being a parent who is involved in day to day affairs, medical care , taking care of all expenses of child (above 18) does not that give me locus standi?

How do i show direct interest? what can i show for direct interest if I may ask?

Thank You

That is really not a clear cut on your case. What is the case and the court decided  it already observing you have no locus standi ? Just not clear facts.

If your Advocate professionally misconducted or misbehaved you can file complaint against him
