Multple 498a possible?

Same story. marriage lasted less than 2 weeks. 498A filed by girl. Settled.

Parents got bail as well. 498A also quashed by high court against all. She signed all docs for divorce. Acknowledged receiving settlement.

Pending final appearance after 6 month period.

Is there any further possibility of foul play?can she file another 498A...? been separated for 2.5 years now.

Youre safe now. No further FIRs can be filed by her.  Although she can withdraw from giving her consent to the second motion. Although tht happens rarely.

Good luck for your life ahead

Thanks Augustine and like your name btw.

Do I HAVE to be in person for the final hearing?

T. Kalaiselvan, Advocate (Advocate)     07 December 2014

For  second or final motion, both the parties are to be present in person before the court.  Even is she chooses not to participate in the MCD and withdraws her consent, she may not succeed on another 498a case based on the disposal of the same case earlier accordingly.  She may not even be entertained by the police if they are convinced about her foul play on an earlier occasion too on the same lines.
