National lok adalat summon over mobile phone

Hi,

I have credit card outstanding dues to be paid to ICICI Bank. Today I got a pre-recorded call on my mobile phone summoning me to National Lok Adalat.

Can I choose to ignore?

What are the legal troubles that I may get into?

Since it is an unsecured form of lending, is summon on phone call really valid?

Requesting the esteemed forum to help.

It's only an intimation to you. If you want to settle the matter once for all pl attend or else ignore.

Lok adalat as you would be knowing is a  alternative dispute resolution forum for reducing pendency of cases in judicial court. If you are interested to resolve the issue without entering into further litigation, it is advisable to attend the hearing and place your points before the forum, so that based on facts placed by both the parties to the dispute , the court may take a acceptable course to close the matter once for all. It is for the parties concerned to accept the decision of the lok adalat or else you can pursue the matter in regular course.
