After a Sale has occured, ownership is automatically transferred to the purchaser via Agreement of Sale. Mutation of property onto your name is possible with this instrument. But it would be better to check with your lawyer depending on where you are in India because after 2011 only a registered Sale Deed can give you absolute ownership of property.
