I need an advice from you!! My dad purchased a house in South Mumbai (Fort area close to C.S.T. station) in 1980 the flat/room was purchased under Pagdi system. 10 years back we had new landlord and the entire building was pull down and rebuilt NOT under Redevelopment scheme.
The room/flat is in my father’s name and my father passed away 3 yrs back. I want the landlord to transfer this room on my Mom’s name and grant us ownership rights.
The building is of 5 floor and flats/room from 3rd floor onwards have been granted ownership rights
1. Can I also ask for ownership rights of my room situated on 1st floor?
2. As of today the Rent and maintenance charges is Rs 660/- for 100 sq ft room.
3. How much money we have to pay to landlord to transfer ownership right of the room on my Mom’s name?
