PF AND ESI

Do we need to deduct and deposit esi, pf for a labour whom we have employed on daily basis or through contractor for repair and maintainence work in our factory, they have only worked for two to three days, or esi, pf is only applicable till the labour has worked for some days i.e minimum 26 days.

Please clarify and tell the minimum days of applicability also.

Thanks in advance for clarification.

Yes. You have to during the terms of your contract. It should be through your Contractor having separate PF /ESIC code otherwise separately in your own PF ESIC Code. PF/ESI is applicable for employees if he/she has worked only one day also.
