Police threat to tenant

I, (about 48 yrs), stay in Tamilnadu, on rent for 10 years, @ Rs 3500/month. No written agreement with landlord. There is a Rental arrears dispute between us of about Rs 30,000/-. During April 2018, Houseowner's son (aged 33 yrs) threw our drinking Water pots breaking them, when we were gathering water, besides threatening us to vacate, and abusing us. I complained to Police. No action taken by them. Three weeks ago, he, in drunken condition hit me with aluminum bucket violently, barged into our house, threw our belongings out, threatened to murder our son. I complained to SP directly. Still no action by them. My civil case on rental dispute against them got numbered two weeks back. Last week local Police Inspector ordered me to vacate house in 3 months' time, eventhough I told him I filed civil case against Houseowner. He obtained it in writing from me, threatening me he will foist case against me and my Son (aged 17 yrs), if I dont vacate House within 3 months. Kindly let me know your valuable inputs as to course of action that I may take. I want to vacate due to the enmity atmosphere.
