For answering your query, it should be clarified that where is your marraige performed in india or abroad. In which country.

Initially the petitioner can apply for divorce through his power of attorney/agent, but he will be required to be present in person to depose his evidence as well as for cross examination during the trial of the proceedings.

From your query , I think you are married in India. You need to get the services of a good reputed lawyer, explain him the case why you need divorce (divorce is not provided at the drop of a hat). Depending upon which he is going to take a vakalat ( repsresentation on your behalf) from you  and a GPA to conduct necessary proceeding appropriate to the case on your behalf.

Advice -

1)if things are not irrevocably broken between you and your spouse, try to mend fences.Let ego's rest for a while.

2) If this does not work, try to mutually come out of this (best for both the parties),truth to be told, best for you.
