Presence during land registration

Hi Experts,

I'm residing in USA on a work permit and I'm planning to purchase a land in Andhra Pradesh along with my brother. However I do not have plans to travel to India in the very near future and so wanted to know if my presence is mandatory during registration?

I read in some websites that for selling stuff, POA and 32A are required, but I don't see any information for Purchase of land. Can you please advise me asap?

Thanks,

Vini

It is not essential to be present for the purchase. You can give a Power of Attorney to your brother to purchase the property. The POA can be notarized by the local Indian mission in your location.
