Property document correction

Hi, I have a property document that needs correction. In the whereabouts of the property, we usually have details of North, South, east , west. Correction here is, instead of west, it was incorrectly mentioned 'north'. So now there are two North in the document. I traced the seller but he is very sick to perform this correction. I tried all ways already. So option of bringing the seller is closed. Is there any legal option through court to do this rectification. And is it costly and time taking?

Make a declaration document and register it. This shall be registered as a miscellaneous document in book-IV and shall not be reflected in Encumberance certificate. However, it is valid one.

And, if you are going to transfer it to any party, you can mention it in the recital of the document that the error has been crept inadvertantly and you can rectify in the deed to executed.
