The data of Call logs/Sms are usually stored in Cellular networks for reference for about 5 years or more depending upon the operator
Mainly Post-paid customers data of call logs are specially arranged to get stored in hard form i mean like harddrives because they are used for billing purpose
And Prepaid customers data is stored over cloud storage
