Regarding some judgement

""Issue notice of the writ petition as well as the stay application, returnable within four weeks. Notices be given ‘dasti’ as prayed."" What these lines mean?? What is the meaning of 'dasti'???

Greetings,

A dasti notice means a notice of summons served by the plaintiff on the defendant, by a specific order by the court, and not registered post or through the process server of the Court. It is basically served by hand, that is in person.

The statement means that the case is put in motion and before the completion of four weeks the service should be complete. Service meaning the summon should reach the respondent against whom the writ has been filed.

Hope this solves your query.
