An employee of a college was assaulted by his subordinate in his office., and then accused by that employee of an offence under Atrocities Act. The Principal, who was informed of this fracas rushed to sort the issue. The employee then accused both his boss and the principal of caste based abuse and lodged a complaint under Atrocities Act. In the subsequent police inquiry, the investigating officer found the allegations against the principal to be baseless. The employee's boss was booked under the Act and a case was lodged against him. Eventually, the court found no evidence against the employee's boss and absolved him of all charges.
Question is what is the recourse for righting the irreparable damage caused as a result of this false complaint to the reputation of the boss (he was actually arrested as per the provisions of the Act and later released on bail)and the principal since the alleged case was reported in newspaper.
